AgentBuild for Claude and ChatGPT
How to connect AgentBuild to your AI, what to ask it, and what it can and can’t touch. The last sections are for IT admins deciding whether to approve it.
What AgentBuild does
AgentBuild lets Claude or ChatGPT build and run your business website for you. Describe your business in the chat, and your AI builds the site, puts it on a domain you already own, sets up email at that domain, and keeps the site up to date whenever you ask. It’s an agent-first website builder: everything works through your AI, with no dashboard needed for site work and no editor to learn.
What you need
- An AgentBuild account. Free for 30 days, no card required. After that, $15/month per site ($120/year). Start your site.
- A Claude or ChatGPT account. Claude on the web, desktop, or mobile, or Claude Code. Any ChatGPT plan works, including Free. Your Claude or ChatGPT plan is separate from AgentBuild.
- A domain you already own (optional to start). AgentBuild does not sell or register domains; buy one from any registrar you like. You can build and preview your site without one. Publishing it on the web needs one.
Connect AgentBuild
You connect once. After that, in any new chat, start with “Use AgentBuild to…” so your AI knows to use AgentBuild instead of answering on its own.
Claude (web, desktop, and mobile)
Claude calls plugins connectors. If AgentBuild appears when you search Claude’s connector directory, connect it there. If not, add it as a custom connector:
- On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Click +, choose Add custom connector, name it AgentBuild, and paste this server URL:
https://api.agentbuild.it/v1/mcp - Claude sends you to agentbuild.it. Sign in with your AgentBuild email and the 6-digit code we send you, then click Approve. You’re sent back to Claude.
- In a new chat, make sure AgentBuild is turned on in the tools menu, then send “Use AgentBuild to build a website for my business.”
Connectors you add on the web or desktop also appear in Claude’s mobile app. If your Claude account is managed by your organization, an owner adds AgentBuild first (see For IT admins).
Claude Code
Run this once in your terminal. Then, in Claude Code, type /mcp, choose agentbuild, and sign in.
claude mcp add agentbuild --transport http https://api.agentbuild.it/v1/mcpChatGPT (web, desktop, and mobile)
- Open AgentBuild in ChatGPT’s plugin directory (opens in a new tab), or search for AgentBuild in the directory inside ChatGPT.
- Click Install plugin. ChatGPT opens agentbuild.it, where you sign in or create an account and click Approve.
- Start a new chat and send “Use AgentBuild to build a website for my business.”
The setup guide has the same steps in more detail.
What you can ask
Talk to your AI in plain words. A few examples:
“Use AgentBuild to build a website for my business.”
Your AI asks about your business one question at a time, then builds a first draft you can open in your browser.
“Use AgentBuild to change our Saturday hours to 9am to 2pm.”
Small edits like hours, prices, menus, and services take one message.
“Use AgentBuild to add my own photos to the gallery.”
A photo panel opens in the chat to upload your photos or pick stock options. If your app can't show it, your AI sends an upload link.
“Use AgentBuild to connect my domain, yourbakery.com.”
Your AI walks you through the one change you make at the company where you bought the domain.
“Use AgentBuild to forward hello@yourbakery.com to my Gmail.”
Mail sent to your domain arrives in the inbox you already use.
“Use AgentBuild to publish my site.”
Puts the current preview live on your domain.
“Use AgentBuild to show me new messages from my contact form.”
Form messages are kept for 90 days, and can also be emailed to you.
“Use AgentBuild to tell me how many people visited my site last week.”
Visits, top pages, and where visitors came from, counted without cookies.
“Use AgentBuild to roll back to the version I published before.”
Restores an earlier published version of your live site. Your next publish includes your latest changes again.
How changes go live
- Changes to your pages land on a preview first. Your site has a preview address ending in .agentbuild.site. It asks search engines not to list it, and anyone you share the address with can open it. Open it, ask for changes, open it again.
- Your real domain changes only when you ask to publish. Publishing needs a domain you own connected to the site and a preview that shows your latest changes. If the site still has several placeholders (sample text or photos you haven’t replaced) or custom code, your AI asks you to confirm first.
- By default, Claude and ChatGPT ask before AgentBuild changes anything. You can approve once, or let a tool run without asking.
- You can undo. Roll your live site back to an earlier published version, or take it offline, by asking. Domain, DNS, and email changes skip the preview and apply right away.
What AgentBuild can do
AgentBuild gives your AI 59 tools. 24 only read: they look at your account and sites and change nothing. The other 35 can change your sites or account, or act on your behalf, for example by searching stock photos or contacting support. Claude and ChatGPT use this split to decide when to ask for your approval. Each tool is listed by its display name, with its technical name beside it.

AgentBuild cannot buy domains or change your subscription from the chat. Billing happens only on agentbuild.it.
Sign-in and access
- You sign in on agentbuild.it with your email and a one-time code. There’s nothing to copy or paste into your AI.
- Claude and ChatGPT never see your sign-in code. They get their own access to AgentBuild, which ends when you disconnect.
What you approve
The approval screen on agentbuild.it shows:
- Which app is asking, and where it will send you back.
- What it can do once connected: create and edit your sites, their content, and images; publish to a domain you’ve connected; connect domains you already own and manage their DNS and email; read your subscription status and file support requests for you.
- If the app asks for them, the sign-in details it can read, such as your email address.
Taking access back
Disconnect AgentBuild in your AI:
- Claude: Customize, then Connectors, then AgentBuild, then Disconnect.
- ChatGPT: Settings, then Plugins (or Apps), then AgentBuild, then Disconnect.
Your data and privacy
What AgentBuild stores
- Your account: email, optional business name and contact details, and country.
- Your sites: pages, text, settings, and the photos and files you upload.
- Contact form messages your sites receive, kept for 90 days.
- Cookieless visit counts for your sites. No visitor IP addresses are kept with them.
- Support requests, and a record of the confirmations you give before sensitive actions like publishing.
- Request logs, including IP address and browser details, kept up to 90 days for security.
Payments are handled by Stripe; AgentBuild stores no card details. Account data is stored in the United States. Retention is listed per category in the privacy policy. To delete your account and its data, email privacy@agentbuild.it.
What AgentBuild doesn’t see
AgentBuild receives only what your AI sends with each request, such as the new text for a page. It has no access to your Claude or ChatGPT conversation history, memory, files, or other connectors.
What goes back into your chat
When you ask, AgentBuild returns the information that task needs to your AI: for example your form submissions, visit counts, domain settings, or a screenshot of your site. Once it is in your chat, your AI provider’s terms apply to it.
We don’t sell personal data and don’t use your content to train AI models. The details are in the privacy policy, the subprocessor list, the terms (including the data processing terms), and the security page.
For IT admins
Rolling it out
- Claude Team and Enterprise:an owner adds AgentBuild for the organization in the organization’s connector settings, using the server URL above. Each member then connects with their own AgentBuild account.
- ChatGPT workspaces:owners and admins control which plugins members can use. If members can’t find AgentBuild, an admin enables it in the workspace’s plugin settings; each member then signs in with their own AgentBuild account.
- Each person uses their own AgentBuild account; there is no single sign-on or shared team account. Each subscription covers one site, and billing happens only on agentbuild.it.
Sign-in
- AgentBuild uses OAuth 2.0 with dynamic client registration, the standard sign-in for remote MCP servers. Claude and ChatGPT register themselves; no shared secret is handed out.
- People who connect other agents with an API key can revoke those keys from their account page.
Domains and DNS
- AgentBuild never registers, renews, or transfers domains. The domain stays registered to you at your registrar.
- To connect a domain, you point its nameservers to
ns1.agentbuild-dns.comandns2.agentbuild-dns.comat your registrar. AgentBuild then hosts the domain’s DNS. Before you switch, AgentBuild looks up the domain’s existing public records, including mail (MX) and verification (TXT) records, and copies the ones it finds. A public lookup can miss records it can’t see, so check the list your AI shows you before changing nameservers. Keeping a different DNS provider in charge is not supported; the site stays on its preview address in that case. - Email at the domain works one of three ways: forwarding to an inbox you already have (receive only; replies come from that inbox), a Google Workspace mailbox you sign up for with Google, which AgentBuild connects, or your current email provider kept as it is. AgentBuild does not host mailboxes.
- You can take the domain back at any time by pointing its nameservers elsewhere.
Hosting and security
Published sites are prebuilt static pages served over HTTPS from a global edge network, with no server code or admin login on your domain. Each site’s content and form submissions are stored separately from every other site. The security page has the full list of practices. AgentBuild is not yet SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified.

Limits and troubleshooting
- One site per subscription. A second business needs its own subscription.
- Your AI answers by itself instead of using AgentBuild. Start the message with “Use AgentBuild to…” and check that AgentBuild is turned on in the chat’s tools menu.
- Your AI says your account is inactive.Your trial has ended or your subscription has lapsed, so your AI can’t make changes. Subscribe from billing on agentbuild.it, then ask again.
- Publishing asks for a domain. Connect a domain you own first; until then, share your preview address.
- Your domain isn’t working yet. Nameserver changes can take up to a day or two to reach everyone. Ask your AI to check the domain again later.
- You connected the wrong AgentBuild account. Disconnect AgentBuild in your AI, sign out at agentbuild.it in the same browser, then connect again.
Still stuck? Ask your AI to “Use AgentBuild to contact support”, which sends our team your question with your site’s details attached, or email support@agentbuild.it. A person replies within one business day. More on the support page.
