Setup guide

Connect AgentBuild to ChatGPT or Claude.

Find AgentBuild in ChatGPT’s plugin directory, on any ChatGPT plan, including Free. Setup takes about two minutes and we walk you through it. Works with Claude too.

Nothing to install. You add AgentBuild inside the AI you already use, approve the connection once, and every later change to your website is a message in that chat. In a new chat, starting with “Use AgentBuild to…” helps your AI pick it.

Before you start

  • An AgentBuild account. Start your site if you don’t have one yet (free for 30 days, no card required; $15/month per site after).
  • For ChatGPT: any ChatGPT account, including Free.
  • For Claude: a Claude account. If your Claude account is managed by your organization, an owner adds the plugin first and then you connect to it.

ChatGPT

Install AgentBuild from the plugin directory.

About two minutes, once. Works on the web, in the ChatGPT desktop app, and in the mobile app.

  1. Open AgentBuild in ChatGPT’s plugin directory, or open the plugin directory in ChatGPT and search for AgentBuild.

  2. Click Install plugin. ChatGPT sends you to AgentBuild to sign in.

  3. New to AgentBuild? Click Start your site for free to create your account. Otherwise enter your AgentBuild email and the 6-digit code we send you. Then click Allow, and you’re back in ChatGPT.

  4. Start a new chat and send “Use AgentBuild to build a website for my business.” The quickstart has stronger first messages that point your AI at a template. ChatGPT asks before each change it makes; Always allow skips the question next time. Your dashboard marks the connection done on the first call.

Claude

Add the AgentBuild plugin for Claude.

Claude calls plugins connectors. Same idea, one menu.

  1. On claude.ai (or in the Claude desktop app), open Customize, then Connectors.

  2. Click +, choose Add custom connector, name it AgentBuild, and paste the server URL:

    https://api.agentbuild.it/v1/mcp

  3. Claude sends you to AgentBuild to authorize. Sign in with your AgentBuild email and approve.

  4. In a new chat, make sure AgentBuild is enabled in the tools menu, then paste the starting prompt from your dashboard.

Using Claude Code instead? One command: claude mcp add agentbuild --transport http https://api.agentbuild.it/v1/mcp

If something looks different

  • Connected the wrong AgentBuild account? In ChatGPT open Settings, then Apps, and disconnect AgentBuild. Sign out at agentbuild.it in the same browser, then install the plugin again.
  • The authorize step opens agentbuild.it. Use the same email you signed up with; the code arrives by email, there is no password.
  • Still stuck? Your dashboard repeats these steps with copy buttons, and support is a real person.
